WHO WE ARE

This Is Our Church

Our Mission

To build an army of believers that know the name of Jesus really works!

Our Pastors

At Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church, you’ll find an atmosphere that is authentic, Spirit-led, and welcoming—a place where people can grow, worship freely, and learn how to walk in the supernatural power of God. Under the leadership of Apostle Charles and Dr. Betty Hawkins, our house is built on revelation, transformation, and real-life application of the Word. Their heart is to teach believers not just to read scripture, but to internalize it, live it, and demonstrate it daily. Through their teaching, they help believers understand who they are in Christ and how to operate in the Spirit here on earth. Their leadership flows from their own testimony. Married for 21 years, Apostle Charles and Dr. Betty are living examples of God’s ability to redeem, restore, and write beautiful stories from imperfect beginnings. Coming from previous marriages that both ended in divorce, they know firsthand that life does not always go as planned. But they also know that we serve a God of second chances, and through His grace, new beginnings are possible. Apostle Charles and Dr. Betty carry this same heart into their ministry. Together, they lead a church that values authenticity, spiritual growth, and the pursuit of God’s presence. Their teaching challenges believers to grow, their leadership equips people to serve, and their example encourages believers to know that the name of Jesus really works. They are committed to raising up disciples who understand their identity, walk in revelation, and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ everywhere they go.

Our Story

In 1984, Evangelist Charles Hawkins received a powerful visitation from the Lord and an anointing to heal the sick, leading to miracles and invitations to minister nationwide and internationally. The ministry soon shifted its focus to missions and outreach, laying the spiritual groundwork for what was to come. In 1988, he accepted the call to pastor, and Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church was born, starting in the basement of Pastor Hawkins' home with just a few faithful families. In 1993, God sent the right support through community partnership, making it possible to secure and establish our permanent church home, strengthening the community with decades of ministry impact. On August 7, 2023, our church building was tragically lost to a fire. But the army of believers remained, embraced by overwhelming community support, prayer, and unity. And now, by God’s grace, we are able to watch beauty rise from the ashes as we rebuild our new church, opening soon in 2026.

Our Vision

We are called to create a consciousness that we are carriers of God’s presence. We have a mission to change the atmosphere wherever we go. We are to demonstrate power, purpose, and manifest God’s plan. We are to bring about transformation to those that God has divinely placed in our path. We are to raise up a body of believers to be the church of our Lord Jesus Christ. And know, as Jesus is, so are we in this world.

OUR BELIEFS

Statement of Faith

We believe the fundamental teachings of Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church are reflected in the doctrinal statements:

We believe that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. We understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that holy men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very Word of Scripture. We believe the complete inerrancy of the original manuscripts of the whole Bible and that they serve as the only rule of faith and practice.
(2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE existing in THREE persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible.
(Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 14:14)

We believe in the creation, test, and fall of man, as recorded in the book of Genesis, his total depravity and inability to attain divine righteousness.
(Romans 5:12, 18)

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of Men, conceived of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man.
(Luke 1:26-35, John 1:18, Isaiah 7:14, 9:6)

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.
(1 Cor. 15:1-4; Romans 4:25)

We believe in the bodily Ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation, and personal, literal, and bodily return the second time for the church.
(John 14:2-3; 1 Thess. 4:13-18)

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith, in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary, by which we obtain remission of sins.
(Eph. 2:8-9; Heb. 9:12; Rom. 5:11)

We believe in the necessity of water Baptism by immersion, in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of Christ.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:36-39; 19:1-6)

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as an experience subsequent to salvation; with the scriptural evidence, namely, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
(Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Gal. 3:14-15)

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12–14, as was manifested in the early church.

We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world, and perfecting holiness in the fear of God, as an expression of Christian faith.
(Eph. 5:18; 2 Cor. 6:14; 7:1)

We believe in the healing of the body by Divine power or Divine healing, in its varied aspects, as practiced in the early church.
(Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Cor. 12:9; James 5:14)

We believe in the table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers.
(1 Cor. 11:28-32)

We believe in eternal life for believers and eternal punishment for unbelievers.
(John 3:16; 5:24; Mark 9:43-58; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 20:10-15)

We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and the eternal judgment of Satan and his angels.
(Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10-15)
